I read something on brain function a while ago, and how in a sense we have two operating systems up there. One works great when we are in predictable situations we have experienced before.
However, when something unknown invades our environment, everything can go out the window. We can only use the one operating system ‘until memory no longer serves.” At that point, the other one kicks in, and it can be like a whole new identity, a whole different set of behaviours, not based on your memories or what used to describe your identity.
Eep. My comment is longer than your post. Anyway, your post made me think of that.
And, your post made me want to get to know mysel(ves) a little better. :-)
Hi Andrew, I’d like to know more about that, sounds really interesting!
Very cool.
